Review of our vacation in Kemer. Food prices, tours, excursions in 2021. The best hotels, according to tourists' reviews. Useful tips for rest in Kemer.

Kemer: expectation and reality

Kemer is our first resort Turkey, before that we were in Istanbul three times. We went here in the classic way - on the last minute tour. Fantasy drew eerie surreal pictures of Gelendzhik-style recreation: compatriots who were burnt out in the sun topless walking through the city streets, grumpy female swearing at children and husbands, assertive inviting Turks to shops, shouting Russian pop music from every bar and hotel - in general, we were morally ready to be in Hell.

Reality surprised, and this time it's nice! Thresh is not here, or it miraculously did not appear to us. Of course, due to the specifics of Russian holidays, we did not feel like we were abroad, but in general, everything is decent. At least in such a small resort like Kemer.

What a vacation in Kemer looks like:

  • The majority of Russian tourists, but about the same number of Turks, there are also Europeans.
  • Every second Turk at the resort speaks Russian well.
  • They offer excursions, food and clothes, but not as energetically as in Egypt - they don't grab the hand, force nothing.
  • There are many bus routes between cities, beaches, attractions.
  • It seems that practically no Russian tourist knows a word of English. Okay, retirees, but young people? This is very surprising.
  • Almost all vacationers hang out all day on the beaches - everything there is packed to capacity.
  • We are glad to note that we have never seen a drunk, inadequate and unceremonious compatriot. Either we are so lucky, or people learn to behave culturally on vacation.
  • The sun burns bless you, it is almost impossible to walk during the day. You still need to come in the velvet season!

In general, our review of the rest in Kemer is positive - we advise you to visit at least once! Part of this pleasant picture is explained by the fact that we are cheaters. We chose a quiet and small resort, settled in a home-style apart-hotel, abandoned all-inclusive. Otherwise, there probably would have been more passions :)

Review of the tour to Kemer and prices in 2021

We bought a ticket to Kemer from Moscow for 7 nights for 33,600 rubles for two on Travelata. It's cheap, but it can be even cheaper: for example, for 21,000 with meals. But we didn't want to live in an anthill hotel, where vacationers with animators rage in the pool, and music thunders in the evenings. We chose the calm Orange Garden hotel, where mainly Turks rest.

The tour operator was BiblioGlobus. Upon arrival, there was a hitch: it turned out that there were several receiving parties, and we had to walk around in search of our counter. Then they waited for the lost tourists for a long time, in the end we arrived at the hotel only at night. Otherwise, everything is as usual: a convenient transfer and Russian-speaking guides who will show and tell everything.

In general, for the summer and autumn of 2021, the cheapest last-minute all-inclusive tours to 3-4 * hotels cost from 43,000 rubles for two for 7-8 nights. In hotels 4-5 * - from 57,000 rubles for 11 nights.

Review of our hotel in Kemer

We chose the Orange Garden Aparthotel without meals. It is quiet and calm, away from noisy streets. We had a spacious room with a balcony and a kitchenette. There is a swimming pool in the yard. An unrated hotel, old and with tired furniture, with jambs in the bathroom. But that's okay, we still spend little time on vacation in the room.

Top hotels in Kemer

Where is quiet. For the ultimate in tranquility, look for small family hotels or villas. They are usually located in an area close to the forest and mountains in the south of the resort. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the beach from there. We lived in just such an area - a sort of suburbia.

Where is fun. If you want to spend your vacation fun, perky and not thinking about anything - choose large hotels closer to the beach with all-inclusive meals. But in the evenings it is extremely loud there - you won't be able to go to bed early. Our compatriots usually settle in such hotels: there is a large swimming pool for the table to be full of food, the children are busy with animators, and there are two steps to the beach.

Review of prices in Kemer

Food. We did not expect that food prices in Kemer are almost twice as high as in Istanbul or Antalya. If they knew, they would have taken a hotel with meals. I had to look for a cafe with adequate prices.

Most expensive - in cafes, kebabs and restaurants on Ataturk Boulevard and the embankment. We, who are accustomed to low prices in Istanbul, looked on our foreheads: 4 shrimps for 55 ₺, kebabs - from 40-50 ₺, soups for 20-34 а, and grilled octopus as much as 108 ₺! See how much food should cost in Turkey.

As a result, we found places for the locals. Prices are low there, our average check is 55-65 ₺ for two (600-700 rubles). Read what are the prices for food in Kemer and where to eat inexpensively.

Food, fruits and berries were bought in supermarkets Migros and Carrefour - prices are quite low. According to tourists, everything is cheaper in Kemer on the market, but it only works on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Rent and transport. In Kemer, the prices for renting a transport are high: a car - from $ 35 per day, a bike - from $ 20. Most take e-scooters. There are many rental points.

The bus service is very developed, and the travels are inexpensive. The ticket price depends on the distance: to Antalya - 9 ₺, to Phaselis - 4.5 ₺. You need to sit at the white clock tower in the city center.

We sailed from Antalya to Kemer on boat - this is a great opportunity to combine a prosaic journey with a boat trip and see the coast from the sea! The ticket costs 15 ₺ per person one way. From Kemer the boat departs at 10:30 and 17:30, from Antalya - at 9:00 and 17:00. Buy tickets in advance, take your passport or hotel voucher.

Excursions. Excursions will be offered at every step. We do not buy excursions because we see the sights on our own. According to reviews, a yacht trip - 110 ₺, a water park - 220 ₺, an excursion around Kemer - from $ 30, in Pamukkale - from $ 40. Holidays with children >>

Review of the beaches in Kemer

In Kemer, thanks to the pebbles, the water is incredibly clear and clean, we did not even expect. Personally, I do not like pebbles: I cannot enter the water without slippers, it hurts to lie on a towel, and in the evening you cannot walk along the shore romantically.

There are two beaches directly in Kemer:

City Beach. It is pebbled. The entrance is free. There is all the infrastructure: umbrellas, sun loungers, changing rooms, toilets, showers, entertainment. From 8 am there is already a full house, come earlier. Music plays loudly in the evening.

"Moonlight". It is a sandy beach. It is located in the shady Moonlight Park, where there is a dolphinarium, playgrounds, water slides, bars, cafes, and a club. The water is clean, the entrance to the sea is shallow, rather shallow. The beach is packed during high season. The park begins next to the port, in the southern part of the resort.

Prices in Kemer for the rental of beach accessories:

  • A sunbed with an umbrella - 10-15 ₺.
  • Towel - 5 ₺.

Review of the beaches in the vicinity of Kemer

Kemer officially includes the beaches of other resort villages, but they are far away: Olympos, Beldibi, Tekirova, Phaselis, Camyuva, Goynuk, Cirali. The largest pebbles are in Beldibi and on the city beach of Kemer.

Our reviews of the beaches in the vicinity of Kemer:

Cirali. Long pebble beach flowing into Olympos. Nice and wide. You can lie on a chaise longue or on a towel. Here the Caretta-Caretta turtles lay their eggs. The depth starts immediately.

Olympos. A small beach next to the ruins of the ancient city of Olympos. It's great to chill out there after running through the ruins fantasizing about being Lara Croft! There is no infrastructure. In the afternoon there is a shadow from the mountain. Tourists who live in modern Olympos go to the beach every day through the ruins of the ancient city. You can also get to the beach through Cirali.

Phaselis. The ancient city has two wonderful bays with beautiful views. One is quiet and calm, because ships do not go there (it is called Phaselis Kuzey Limanı). You can dive and see the ruins underwater! The beach is pebbly, without sun beds and umbrellas. There are no waves, rather shallow. From the infrastructure - a bar, toilet and shower far from the beach. The second bay is called Phaselis Güney Limanı, and this is a tourist hell - big ships with crowds arrive there. You understand, little pleasure. But the view of Mount Tahtali is beautiful!

Camyuva. Long pebble beach with infrastructure. Nothing special.

Advice. If it hurts to walk on pebbles, buy coral slippers. By the way, the pebbles are very hot during the day!

Review of the sights of Kemer

It is difficult to have time to see everything in one short vacation in Kemer! There are many attractions, here's what we visited:

  • Phaselis. Picturesque ruins and equally picturesque views. Calm bays, clean water.
  • Olympos and Cirali beach. Again, picturesque ruins, a beautiful beach, a section of the Lycian Trail.
  • Mount Chimera (Yanartash)where the gas burns. According to reviews, it is better after sunset. We were before sunset - the fire still burns brightly!
  • Mount Calysh. Easy and pleasant trekking, along the way there are observation decks to different banks. We met a turtle there :)
  • Antalya. Kaleici old town, port, Duden waterfall.
